Solvent Process

The solvent process is a critical step in the production of high-quality oils and waxes. It involves using a carefully selected solvent to extract valuable components from raw materials. This method ensures maximum yield and purity, making it an essential process for industries that require precision and consistency.

Screening

Before the extraction begins, raw materials undergo thorough screening to remove impurities such as dirt, stones, or foreign materials. This step ensures the integrity of the process, preventing contamination and safeguarding the quality of the final product. Effective screening also minimizes wear and tear on equipment, enhancing operational efficiency.
Extraction
Food-grade hexane is introduced to dissolve the oil components, leaving behind solid form of rice bran residues which is called the De-oiled Rice Bran (Link to By-products). This method is highly efficient and ensures the highest levels of purity.
Recovery
Post-extraction, the solvent is carefully recovered and recycled for further use. This step is crucial for minimizing waste and ensuring the cost-effectiveness of the process. Modern recovery systems are designed to maximize solvent reuse without compromising the quality of the product.

Refining Process

Refining is the cornerstone of delivering oils that meet industry standards and customer expectations. This process involves purifying the extracted product to enhance its quality, stability, and usability.
Degumming and Neutralization
The first step involves removing gums, phospholipids, and free fatty acids that may affect the product's stability. Neutralization ensures the product is safe for use in various applications apart from cooking, including cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and industrial purposes.
By-products produced: Lecithin
Bleaching
To achieve the desired color and clarity, bleaching agents are introduced to the product. This step removes pigments, oxidation products, and other impurities, resulting in a clean and visually appealing product.
Dewaxing
Dewaxing is an essential step to remove waxy components that can affect the texture and performance of the final product. The process involves chilling the fatty-free bleached oil to a specific temperature to allow waxes to crystallize, followed by filtration to eliminate them. This ensures a smooth, stable product free from unwanted solid residues.
Deodorization
The final stage involves removing any remaining odor-causing compounds through a vacuum distillation process. This step ensures the product is free from unwanted smells, making it a versatile choice in the kitchen for all cooking needs with resulting in a neutral taste.
